Evidently I am leading Operation: Write All The Crossovers.

i believe in reinvention
Leverage/Lost | Sophie Devereaux/Sawyer
PG-13ish | 1,039 words | aliases, Atlanta, Tallahassee, short con, parking lots

Sophie scoffs as she steps out of the car into the oppressive Atlanta summer heat. She adjusts her hat, shading her eyes, and wishes to be anywhere else. The con’s almost over and she’s trying not to count the days until she can fly back to Europe where the weather isn’t criminally awful.

“Didn’t think this was your kinda circuit, Devereaux.”

fall in (fall out)
Babylon 5/Stargate SG-1 | Kosh/Oma Desala
R | 447 words | rules, meetings

“There are rules, you know.” The words slide from her mouth, effortless as she stretches her bare legs, toes pointed, and turns to him. Faint light from invisible candles dances over his body, casting patches of shadow and brightness on his back. These aren’t their only forms, nor the only forms they’ve held this evening, but there are certain advantages to human physiology.

dear catastrophe waitress
Stargate SG-1/Supernatural | Vala Mal Doran/Dean Winchester
PG-13 | 1,089 words | appreciate, generous

He drops a five and two ones on the table when he’s done – pie’s two-fifty and ice cream an extra dollar; whatever happened earlier, she deserves the hazard pay – and leaves with nothing more than a nod. He’ll leave tomorrow if the monster hasn’t showed up by noon; he’s wasted enough time here as it is.

[that was a terrible finale in all senses of the term "terrible." Addison, you deserved better. I love you.]

lady stardust
characters; Addison Montgomery + Amelia Shepherd
stats; PG | 2,361 words | major character death
summary; couldn't wash the echoes out (it's time to move on)

“Hello?” She calls out. Her voice doesn’t quite echo, though it reflects the emptiness. Henry fusses and she shifts him to her other hip. “Anybody?” When no one answers, she pokes her head in the offices and exam rooms. They look exactly like she left them when she went home the other night; computers asleep, pillows slightly askew, charts neatly stacked and organized, equipment put away. Cooper’s left his desk light on, so she turns it off.

“Hello, Addison.”

She turns at the sound of Amelia’s voice, finding her friend standing in the middle of the practice, hands in her pockets.

she'll come, she'll go, she'll lay belief on you

January 2 - January 16ish

Welcome to the Texts From Last Night Ficathon, v2.0! (last year's version can be found here, if you're interested)

General Guidelines!
1. Prompts should be in the form of "Fandom - Pairing/Character - text" (ex.: Stargate - Sam + Daniel - (513): Why did I just get a ziplock baggie labeled "2010" on it from you in the mail?) If you have any special requests (i.e., porn, not porn), say so. One prompt per comment, unlimited prompts.
2. All pairings (solos, threesomes, moresomes, too) are welcome. So are crossovers.
3. Fills should be in reply to the prompt, and have a subject line generally in the form of "Title (Rating)." If it goes over the comment character limit, either post it in multiple comments (add 1/2, 2/2 to the subject) or post it elsewhere in full and link back with a snippet.
4. Prompts can have unlimited fills.
5. Warn for: rape/non-con, death, incest (even if it's really obvious from the pairing), dub-con, torture/violence, explicit underage sex (everyone must be at least 16).
6. For reasons of me being perpetually confused by LJ's TOS on these matters, no RPF.

Notes!
- Once you've filled the prompt, post a link to your fic as a reply to this comment. I'm going to try to keep a running list this year so people don't have to wade through pages to find fills.
- There's an AO3 collection here. Feel free to cross-post and add any of your works to it (it's a catchall collection that I'm not going to close, so if you have stuff from last year, go ahead)
- Duration: January 2 - January 16th, or until interest fades (basically I'm not going to tell everyone to stop writing if this is still going strong two weeks from now).

Advertise!

The latest turn of events jumpstarted my muse for this fandom. I'm not sure whether I'm pleased about that or not yet (at least it bumped up my word count for the month by 6100 and, frankly, I needed that) but it's kind of nice to be writing in the security blanket fandom again. ANYWAY. Look, look, stuff I made!

Summarys and such have spoilers in them because, honestly, I don't think anyone currently on my f-list who watches this show is in that unfortunate trifecta of Hasn't Seen It Yet, Hasn't Heard Yet, and Cares Deeply About Not Knowing Until The Moment. If I'm wrong (which is possible, because this is a public entry), scroll now.

I’ve recently taken a trip down memory lane and started re-reading all of my old (cringe-worthy, bad, miserable, awful, terrible) fic. And let me tell you - it is crap. There are Mary Sue OCs running around all over the place, there is plot stupidity that has to be read to be believed, sloppy writing, wholly unnecessary sequences, entire stories are out of character, and it is a big fat mess. But it's been really fun (and not just a little embarrassing) to read all the old stuff. I’ve been writing fic for almost six years (excluding some very wangsty clearly-written-by-a-depressed-teenager Star Trek Voyager fic that is now, thankfully, lost to the internet) and, in the process of the re-read, I've realized that there’s quite a lot that I’ve learned in those six years.

disclaimer: this isn’t to be meant as a guide for everyone or as a universal suggestion list or a rulebook; it’s full of YMMV items because it’s stuff I personally learned in six years. Not all of it is applicable to everyone and not all of it is great. Based on some interest mentioned on Twitter, I figured it was worth sharing.

the best laid plans this side of america
Fandom + Pairing; SG-1 + Sam/Cam
Rating + Words; PG-13 + 2,000
Written for: gingasaur, for correctly guessing that I had to do 6 loads of laundry last weekend. I know the prize was a 500-word fic, but it got over 500 and then it became a game of whether I could hit 2000 exactly or not (turns out I can). ♥ you, bb.

Summary: Sometimes the best plans lend themselves to a lot of boredom. Sam, Cam, surveillance they don't actually need to do, and a cargo ship on the dark side of the moon.
